Where Art and the Art of Life meet
I (Alja) was born with a pencil behind an ear and some brushes and paints in my pockets. Being ingnored and denied in this natural way of sharing my inner life, it took me a while before I discovered their importance for my life.
Developing my talents and opening myself for more realities then the ones I grew up with, brought me from being overwhelmed by life to insights in life. In its processes and natural laws. It enabled me to understand the essence of life and her tellings shared in metaphors.
Behind every painting I made is a story, based on an actual life happening, that made me search for answers to the many life questions I had.
At this moment I am working on:
‘A New Dawn – Healing today’s history to create another future’ is a creation story that shares life’s realities which we, as human beings, seem to have forgotten about. They turned into blanks and therefor the answers to life questions seems to be scattered all over the world and everyone is holding a piece of it.
Putting the pieces together, brought me insights in where in history we might have lost our true selves and how we can return ‘home’ again.
Over the years I created ‘The Legend of Mazze’ a metaphorical series in which the developments of the ‘eternal child’ and the many dimensions of consciousness that exist in life are described.
And in my search for answer which powers bear words within themselves I wrote ‘Wat ‘Ik’ te vertellen heeft’
(‘Who is ‘I’ and what is -e telling ‘Me’).
To my own surprise words and the natural development of the humane ego seem to be deeply connected and interrelated.
Most of the books I wrote and illustrated are available in Dutch. Some don’t need any language because their story is universal and can be recognized in experience by many.
I hope they will all find their way to the hearts of many and love to invite you to enjoy them here!
